Somali PM: Amnesty for al-Shabab militants 'is working'
Somalia's prime minister says members of the Somali militant Islamist group al-Shabab are responding to a government amnesty and have defected from the organisation.
Just over two weeks ago, Somalia's government confirmed the killing of the group's then leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane, in a US air strike.
Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed said al-Shabab, which has links to al-Qaeda, was divided, despite the appointment of a new leader.
