UN: Refugees need help from international community

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has said the international community is not coping with the exponential growth of the number of displaced people.

There are 50 million displaced people globally, the highest number since World War II according to Antonio Guterres.

"The exponential growth of displacement" means the needs of refugees are growing quickly and the capacity to serve them does not exist.

The High Commissioner was speaking at a conference to address the urgent needs of refugee children.
