Kenya schoolchildren in reading aloud record bid

Children in more than 400 schools in Kenya have taken part in a challenge to have the most people read from the same book at the same time.

The participants hope to surpass the previous national record which stands at at 142,279.

The Guinness World Record is held by the US with 233,000 people taking part in a reading session.

Anne Soy reports from a school in Nairobi where children read an excerpt of the book along with the author.
