Lessons to prevent Zanzibaris from drowning

Despite being surrounded by water, many people in Zanzibar do not know how to swim.

Official figures are not available but it is believed that the number of drownings is on the rise. A local organisation, with the backing of UK charity the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, is now trying to change that, by teaching young people to swim.

The BBC's Sammy Awami, a non-swimmer himself, has been along to try it out.
