Fukushima nuclear reactors stabilised after nine months

The crippled nuclear reactors at the Fukushima nuclear plant have been stabilised, nine months after the earthquake and tsunami, Japan has confirmed.

Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda announced the plant had been brought to a "cold shutdown condition", but the government says it will take decades to dismantle it completely.
