Bush fires stretch emergency crews to the limit

More than 100 bush fires have broken out in southern Australia in the past 48 hours, stretching emergency crews to the limit.

Temperatures have risen to 40C (104F) sparking a wave of fires in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

The Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, has added her voice to the warnings for people to be careful.
