Pakistan Shia procession targeted in bomb blast

At least 17 people have been killed and some 20 wounded in a bomb attack on a Shia religious procession in Pakistan.

Police in the central city of Khanpur say the explosion, caused by a remote-controlled bomb, happened as the march marking the Shia festival of Arbain approached.

There have been a number of attacks targeting the minority Shia community, carried out by Sunni militants.
