Aung San Suu Kyi registers for by-election
Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese pro-democracy leader, has registered as a parliamentary candidate for the country's upcoming by-elections.
Her National League for Democracy party will contest 40 seats in the April ballot - but it is the first time she has stood for public office herself.
The BBC's Soe Win Than, reporting from Rangoon, said hundreds of supporters had gathered to catch a glimpse of her when she went to register.
