What does the future hold for China's Olympians?

China's athletes have started to return home from the London 2012 Olympics - ending the Games second only to the United States in the medals table.

With a total of 88 medals, 39 of which were Gold, it was a great achievement but falls short of the 2008 Beijing Games, when China topped the table with 100 medals - including 51 Gold.

The returning athletes are set to receive financial bonuses but the national sports ministry has denied reports that some could be in line for payouts up to 500,000 Yuan, over £50,000.

So what does the future hold for China's Olympians? Yan Qiang, a former sports editor in Beijing.
