Multiple Afghan blasts kill dozens in Nimroz and Kunduz

Forty-eight people have been killed and more than 130 others wounded in a series of bombings in the south-west and north of Afghanistan.

Thirty-six people were killed in four suicide bombings in Zaranj near the Iranian border in the south west. Many of the victims were shopping for Eid celebrations at the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan.

Shortly afterwards, police in the northern province of Kunduz said 12 people were killed in another blast.
