Australia creates world's largest network of marine reserves

Australia has created the world's largest network of marine reserves, protecting over 2.3 million sq km (0.9 million sq miles) of oceans around its coast from over-fishing and oil exploration.

The country's Environment Minister Tony Burke said: "We don't want people to only know the magnificence of their oceans through aquariums or by watching Finding Nemo."
