Australian bush fires destroy homes across New South Wales

An investigation is under way to establish whether a training exercise using explosives may have started one of the bush fires which have destroyed hundreds of homes in the Australian state of New South Wales.

Record spring temperatures have led to the worst bush fires for more than a decade, leaving many fearful of the summer months ahead.
