100 Women 2014: Why menstruation is an Indian taboo

The health, hygiene and wellbeing of Indian women is being affected by a lack of access to cheap and safe sanitary products.

The BBC's Rupa Jha spoke about the sensitive issue of menstruation to women of all ages, some of whom are made to feel like "untouchables".

The BBC's 100 Women season runs online, on BBC World News TV and on BBC World Service radio from 27-29 October.
