Pakistan army hails Taliban crackdown

More than 1,200 suspected Taliban militants have been killed during a five-month offensive, the Pakistan army has claimed.

It says the operation has seriously reduced the Pakistani Taliban's ability to carry out attacks.

But some believe many of the Taliban's top leaders fled to Afghanistan before the operation began.

Anbarasan Ethirajan reports.
