Fire in a Chinese market in Guangdong kills 17

Seventeen people were killed in a fire which broke out in a wholesale market in Guangdong province of China, according to state media.

It broke out on the fourth floor and a hole had to be broken in the wall of the building to help people escape.

It took about six hours for more than 200 fire-fighters to bring the fire under control.
