J Jayalalitha: From actress to politician

One of India's most influential and colourful politicians, J Jayalalitha, has died at 68.

Ms Jayalalitha died in hospital in Chennai on Monday night after a prolonged illness.

Here, the BBC looks back at her colourful life - from film star, to a politician known as "Amma", or "mother", by her devoted followers.
