Flood waters inundate NZ town of Edgecumbe

Residents of Edgecumbe on New Zealand's North Island are evacuating the town after it was hit by severe flooding.

The Rangitaiki River burst through a large section of its banks, leaving most of the town under at least a metre of water.

The rain has been brought by tropical storm Debbie, which hit Australia a week ago as a cyclone.
