Second mining accident in China

The latest mining accident in southwestern China has claimed at least 34 lives and left nine men missing at a coal mine in south China.

It is the country's second fatal mining tragedy within a week.

A mine in Henan province experienced a rock burst, which trapped pit workers. Dozens were rescued but 10 were killed.
