Hong Kong restaurant targeted in shark fin protest

Protesters gathered outside a popular Hong Kong restaurant demanding it take shark fin soup off its menu.

They called on Maxim's Palace restaurant to stop selling fins from all sharks, but especially those from threatened species. Maxim's says it does not sell fins from endangered sharks and has reduced the number of fins sold in its restaurants.

Shark fin is considered a delicacy in Chinese cuisine and is often served as a soup at upmarket banquets.
