Father of bride 'trapped for 16 years'

The father of an Indian woman abandoned by her European husband, says the family have been "trapped" in a legal limbo for 16 years.

Darshan paid a large dowry to a man in return for agreeing to marry his daughter. But he later left her.

It's one of 25,000 alleged cases of abandonment in India.

Divorcing an absent spouse is extremely difficult and costly.
