Japanese shoplifters getting older

Japan is generally considered to be a safe country with a very low crime rate.

But the authorities are worried about increasing levels of criminal activity among one age group in particular - the elderly.

Over the past 20 years, the number of people over 65 who have been arrested for shoplifting has increased ten-fold.
