Thailand elections: Voting begins in tense campaign
Voting has begun in Thailand's general election, billed as a test of the nation's fragile democracy.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's Democrats face a tough battle against the Pheu Thai party, lead by the youngest sister of ousted former leader Thaksin Shinawatra.
Some 170,000 police officers have been deployed outside polling stations across the country, following six years of often bloody political protests.
