China and other East Asian celebrate mid-autumn festival
Mid-autumn celebrations have taken place in China and other far eastern countries.
Also known as the Moon festival, the tradition is believed to have become a Chinese holiday about 1,000 years ago.
It brings dragons, lanterns and hundreds of people to the streets on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar.
