Chinese farmers protest of sale of ancient land

Rioters in the southern Chinese province of Guandong have damaged government buildings and injured police officers in protests over a land sale.

The unrest began on Wednesday and continued on Saturday in Lufeng, which is a city of 1.7m people.

Villagers from a suburb are angry at what they see as ancestral land is being sold to developers.

The BBC's Michael Bristow reports from Beijing.
