Tajikistan convicts BBC reporter Urunboy Usmonov
A BBC reporter convicted of complicity in the activities of a banned Islamist organisation has vowed to appeal.
Urunboy Usmonov, 60, was sentenced to three years in jail over alleged connections to the Hizb ut-Tahrir group, but the judge granted him an amnesty and ordered his release.
The BBC has strongly condemned the verdict, insisting Mr Usmonov was carrying out journalistic duties.
