Bangkok braced for floods to peak

The UK foreign office has advised against all but essential travel to Bangkok after the worst floods in over 60 years hit Thailand.

Flood waters in the capital Bangkok are expected to peak later and the authorities have asked American military helicopters to help survey the damage.

The BBC's Karishma Vaswani, who is in Bangkok, said thousands of people had left the city over the last few days.
