First female Aboriginal MP promises 'fighting spirit'
Australia's first female Aboriginal MP has given her maiden speech in parliament and has promised to bring the "fighting spirit" of her clan to federal politics.
Linda Burney said that more needed to be done to help Australia's original inhabitants, who continue to suffer disproportionately high rates of poverty, ill-health and imprisonment.
