Moscow mayor decision 'a formality'
After weeks of rumours and deliberations the Russian capital Moscow is about to get a new mayor.
A vote by the city council is seen as a mere formality since the council, dominated by the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, already supports the nomination of Sergei Sobyanin.
Mr Sobyanin is also backed by President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
Oleg Boldyrev reports.
