Former Greek MP attacked by angry crowd

Angry crowds took to the streets of Athens on Wednesday, demonstrating against government austerity measures.

Police clashed with crowds who threw petrol bombs and started fires outside parliament.

Former conservative minister Kostis Hatzidakis was attacked as he left Parliament and chased down the street by an angry mob.

About 15,000 people took part in the day long strike which grounded flights, disrupted public transport and closed schools across the country.
