Ice storm adds to weather misery

Severe winter weather continued to effect large portions of Europe as travellers tried desperately to make it to their destinations ahead of the Christmas holidays.

Freezing rain and a coating of almost 2cm (almost one inch) of ice has caused severe transport disruptions in Germany.

Footage shot in Lower Saxony shows how slippery the conditions are.
