Protests against austerity measures continue in Madrid

Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of Madrid for a sixth day to demonstrate against Spain's economic crisis.

With nearly five million people jobless, Spain has the highest unemployment rate in Europe.

Spain's electoral commission had ordered those camped out at Madrid's Puerta del Sol square to leave ahead of Sunday's elections, but the crowd remained and police did not move in.

Sarah Rainsford reports from Madrid.
