Lokomotiv Yaroslavl: Medvedev visits air crash site

Russia and the world of ice hockey are mourning the deaths of 36 players and officials from the major league team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in a plane crash.

The Yak-42 plane came down shortly after take off on Wednesday and burst into flames.

President Dmitry Medvedev has visited the crash site at Tunoshna airport to pay tribute to those who lost their lives.

He has also promised to overhaul the aviation industry and ensure that ageing jets from the Soviet era are taken out of service.
