Pope John Paul II statue sculptor defends his work

A vast bronze statue of the late Pope John Paul II at Rome's main railway station has been criticised but its sculptor stands by his creation.

The Italian sculptor, Oliviero Rainaldi, says he will make minor adjustments but not a new statue.

The Vatican's own newspaper has said the figure depicted in the 5m (16ft) high creation looks nothing like Pope John Paul II.
