'Why I'm protesting in Athens'

Some 7,000 police have been deployed in Athens as people gather for a large rally to mark the anniversary of the student uprising in 1973.

Protesters angry at planned austerity measures which Greece must implement to tackle its debt crisis are also out in force.

One protester explained to the BBC's Mark Lowen why he was there.
