Turkey-Syria relations left sour
Turkey is now taking a leading role in pushing for a change of government in Syria and as a result, relations with its Arab neighbour have soured.
Syrian troops have shot at Turkish vehicles, a free trade agreement has been abolished, and the flourishing commercial links between northern Syria and south-eastern Turkey have been broken.
