Thousands attend funerals for air attacks on Iraqi border

The president and the prime minister of Turkey have expressed regret and sadness at the deaths of 35 civilians who were killed in an air force attack on the Iraqi border area on Wednesday night.

Their comments came as thousands of people attended funerals of the victims, who were a group of smugglers thought to have been mistaken for Kurdish separatist guerrillas.
