Mount Etna eruption led to temporary flight cancellations
Italy's Mount Etna erupted into life during the night of 8 - 9 February, spewing forth lava fountains which brightened the midnight sky.
The eruption followed a period of intermittent activity and produced a plume of ash which led to the temporary cancellation of some flights at the nearby Catania airport.
