Banned Spanish judge to appeal

The Spanish Supreme Court has banned the campaigning judge, Baltasar Garzon, from practising law for 11 years, for ordering an illegal phonetapping operation.

He had justified the bugging of conversations between suspects and their lawyers, saying he thought the lawyers were being instructed to launder money.
