EU 'debt brake' deal signed without Britain

European leaders in Brussels have signed a new treaty designed to strengthen budgetary discipline by introducing a "debt brake" into national laws.

Britain and the Czech Republic were alone among the 27 EU members in refusing to agree to the deal.

It is aimed at preventing a repeat of the current crisis affecting the eurozone.

The BBC's Europe correspondent Matthew Price reports.
