French siege: France must stand united, says Sarkozy
French President Nicholas Sarkozy has appealed for unity following the dramatic end to the siege in Toulouse.
The stand-off ended with Mohammed Merah jumping from a window after a siege at a flat that had lasted 32 hours.
The self-confessed al-Qaeda militant was suspected of killing four people outside a Jewish school and three soldiers in three separate attacks.
Mr Sarkozy also confirmed there would be an inquiry into events in Toulouse.
