French presidential hopefuls cast votes

Polls have opened in France's presidential election, which is taking place amid widespread concern over the eurozone crisis and high unemployment.

The centre-right incumbent, Nicolas Sarkozy, is seeking re-election but he is facing a strong challenge from Socialist candidate, Francois Hollande.

Marine Le Pen, far-right leader, has invigorated her anti-immigration National Front.

All three have now cast their votes. Hugh Schofield reports.
