One-mile-long bridge across Danube due to open

A new one-mile-long bridge linking Romania and Bulgaria across the River Danube is due to open on Friday.

It is hoped the crossing from Vidin to Calafat, which cost £240m, will reduce freight costs between the Middle East and western Europe.
