Edward Snowden 'withdraws' Russia asylum request

Fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has withdrawn his asylum request to Russia.

He has sent asylum requests to 20 other countries, according to a statement published by Wikileaks.

The former CIA analyst, who is holed up at Moscow airport, is wanted by the US on charges of leaking secrets.

Steve Rosenberg reports from Moscow.
