Turkish students clash with police over university road

Police fired water cannons, smoke grenades and rubber bullets to disperse students demonstrating against plans to reconstruct their Ankara campus.

Hundreds of students erected barricades and threw stones at police, angry at proposals to build a road through the Middle East Technical University grounds.
