Prison overcrowding: Rare glimpse inside French prison

More than 60% of Europe's prisons are overcrowded, making it one of the most serious problems facing the criminal justice system.

In France, which has a prison population of 68,000 inmates and 11,000 above capacity, 57% of people are reconvicted within five years.

The BBC's Christian Fraser has been given a rare glimpse inside one of their most overcrowded prisons.
