Danish Eurosceptic MEP Messerschmidt attacks EU budget
A Danish Eurosceptic MEP says the EU's 2014-2020 budget leaves too much spending on "useless programmes" in place.
The European Parliament approved the budget on Tuesday, but Morten Messerschmidt told the BBC in a TV interview that the EU was heading in the wrong direction.
Mr Messerschmidt sits with the right-wing Europe of Freedom and Democracy group in the parliament.
