Bulgarian Socialist MEP sees ‘more balanced’ EU budget
A Bulgarian Socialist MEP says the EU's long-term budget - just agreed - will target spending more sensibly in the 28-nation bloc.
Ivailo Kalfin, a budget expert in the European Parliament, told the BBC that the 2014-2020 package would address some of Europe's "burning problems" such as youth unemployment.
Mr Kalfin is in the centre-left Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group. He called the budget agreement with EU governments a "good compromise".
