Lord Ashdown: Russia has made a 'very stupid move'
The former Liberal Democrat leader Lord Ashdown has called the Russian occupation of Crimea a "very stupid move."
The special forces veteran claimed Russia was a weak state and international action would cost the country heavily.
Speaking with BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast, Lord Ashdown said: "I think we're a mistake away from conflict."
"If the West acts together... there will be a heavy price to pay for what Russia has done."
