Ukraine: Referendum on Crimea future illegal, says Tombinsky

The Crimean parliament has voted for the region in southern Ukraine to become part of Russia.

The proposal will be put to the people of Crimea in a referendum on March 16 but the head of the European Union delegation to Ukraine, Jan Tombinsky, suggested a referendum in Crimea only would be illegal.
