Muscovites on controversial Crimea referendum

The head of the upper house of the Russian parliament has said parliament will support Crimea in its bid to become part of Russia if the people of the region vote in favour.

The planned referendum, due in nine days time, has been denounced by Western powers as illegitimate.

People on the streets of the Russian capital have been speaking about the decision to hold a referendum - and whether they are concerned about any possible consequences for Russia.
